Olean’s House Ear Trainer is an interactive training tool for music producers who want to improve their critical listening skills using real audio from their own DAW.
Your purchase gives you a choice between two editions:
• Standalone macOS + VST3/AU Edition
Use the standalone Ear Trainer app together with the included Olean’s House Bridge plug-in.
• Max for Live Edition
Drag the device directly onto an audio channel inside Ableton Live. No standalone app or Bridge plug-in is required.

Choose your workflow
Standalone macOS + VST3/AU Edition
- Install the supplied macOS package.
- Load Olean’s House Bridge onto a track, group or master channel.
- Open the standalone Ear Trainer app.
- Choose an exercise and start training.
The app and Bridge communicate locally on your Mac while the Bridge processes audio directly inside your DAW.
The Bridge also includes an Input Trim control from -24 dB to 0 dB. It is automatable and saved with your DAW project, providing additional headroom when training with loud or mastered material.
Max for Live Edition
- Add the supplied Max for Live device to your Ableton User Library.
- Drag it onto the audio channel you want to train with.
- Start playback.
- Choose an exercise and begin training.
Everything runs directly inside Ableton Live, with no separate application, VST3, Audio Unit or Bridge required.

This product is available in two versions. Select the edition that matches your setup:
• macOS + VST3/AU – for producers who want to use the standalone app with a compatible DAW
• Max for Live – for producers who want the complete workflow directly inside Ableton Live
The editions are alternative versions of the same product. Your purchase includes the edition selected when ordering, not both editions.

macOS + VST3/AU Edition
• macOS 11.0 or later
• Intel or Apple Silicon Mac
• A compatible VST3 or Audio Unit host
The macOS installer is Developer ID signed, notarized by Apple and stapled.
Max for Live Edition
• Ableton Live with Max for Live
• A computer and operating system supported by your installed Ableton Live and Max for Live versions
Ableton Live and Max for Live are not included.
Licence
One purchase provides an indefinite licence for the selected edition. You may install it on any number of devices personally owned or controlled by you.
Commercial use is permitted. Licence transfers, sharing and redistribution are not permitted.
